Lisa graduated from Stanford University with an undergrad degree in psychology and a Masters’ in Organizational Studies and worked in consulting and tech before falling in love with physical therapy after a snowboarding accident. She completed her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at University of Washington, and since she can’t seem to stop learning, went on to do a residency and fellowship in orthopedic manual therapy with the Ola Grimsby Institute. For many years, she balanced clinical practice and university teaching in Seattle and Bend, before moving to a full-time faculty role at Oregon State University – Cascades in 2017, where she got to help train future physical therapists in undergrad and grad school.
In addition to her extensive orthopedic manual therapy training, she holds certifications in the Schroth method for scoliosis, health and wellness coaching, and strength and conditioning. Over her career, she has built specialty practices for persistent pain, scoliosis and other spine issues, concussion management, and kids with orthopedic issues. She loves working with complex or unusual health conditions and with people of all ages and backgrounds, focusing on each person’s unique needs, situation, and goals.
When she’s not treating patients, you may find her wearing her organizational development hat at FlexHealth Consulting, helping organizations build internal health so their team can stay focused on improving health in the community. Or you may find her out on the trails in the summer, touring the Nordic areas in the winter, at the yoga studio, or simply walking the Old Mill Loop and taking advantage of all the incredible beauty of Central Oregon.
